Our smart³ network was once again present at various event formats in 2023 with the smart³ joint stand.

BoKoMat 2023 – Bochum

In addition to our own annual conference, ZUK 2023+ in Dresden in June, we were also an active sponsor at BoKoMaT 2023 in Bochum in September. Association members Saarland University, Fraunhofer IWU Dresden and Ingpuls GmbH presented the latest innovations from the world of smart materials applications at a joint stand. The BoKoMaT - Conference for Nickel-Titanium Shape Memory Alloys - brings together representatives from industry and science from around the world to discuss the future of shape memory technology. The technical presentations will focus on the production of shape memory alloys, their application and implementation in existing products. BoKoMaT is traditionally hosted and organised by Ingpuls GmbH and the Chair of Materials Science (RUB). This is a good opportunity for smart³ members to present themselves as a strong and innovative community. Our chairman Holger Kunze was very busy at the booth.

Motek 2023 – Stuttgart

In October we travelled to Stuttgart for Motek - the international trade fair for production and assembly automation. At the smart³ joint stand, ETO GRUPPE, Saarland University and Fraunhofer IWU Dresden presented the results of joint R&D projects over recent years.

Over the past few decades, Motek has become an important milestone in the field of automation and has evolved into the industry's leading trade fair. For many companies, including some of our smart³ members, Motek is therefore an annual must-attend event to engage in practical dialogue with potential interested parties, as well as new and existing customers, on all aspects of production automation. Motek covers the entire value chain of industrial production. Trade visitors and exhibitors can discuss future-proof automation solutions in a personal dialogue. The discussions at the smart³ joint stand were characterised by great technical depth as well as great curiosity about the applications of smart materials in automation technology. The joint presentation was definitely worthwhile for the represented smart³ members.
